The real cure for the uninsured

I have been watching Health Care conversation for a year.  As I am sure many people have been.

If we are really concerned with the small percentage of American’s without insurance why does it cost $1T or so to cover those folks.  I am sure we should.  Fine..I’ll grant you that.

The debate could end today if any of the people involved in this debate had a brain.  If government health care is so good the bill should be one page.  Medicare for everyone.

That obviously isn’t the goal here so what is the goal.  Its to have the private sector grow in my opinion.  It looks like both the democrats and some of the republicans want us to grow slowly but surly into socialist.  Why not they work in government and everyone wants their sector to grow.  I work in industry.  I want to see us grow.  Perhaps its the difference between public and private sector workers.  I heard, and added some bits to a plan I think makes sense.

Let’s start with this.  The President once said we can save some hundreds of billions of dollars by getting rid of fraud and abuse.  Let’s do that.

Second let’s do electronic medical records.  Those records, in my opinion could save us more.  I agree with the president on that.

Once we get THOSE two things working let’s see what that does to cost.  Then let’s just buy insurance for the uninsured.  Wouldn’t that cost far less than $1T?  Or is this a ploy to grow the public sector with more HACKS (if you live in Massachusetts you really know what that is).

I don’t think more government is the answer.  Systematic failures are too far reaching.  Fewer systems people.  Less government, some is needed but this isn’t the answer.  We can’t take 10 steps at a time.  Let’s start with 1 we can all agree on and I think that is clean up the fraud and abuse the president says we can eliminate.

  1. I Agree but WHY CAN’T WE HAVE THE SAME HEALH PLAN AS THEY DO. THE DRADED PUBLIC OPTION. IT JUST MAKES TOO MUCH SENSE TO DO IT.
